Privacy Policy
How information of operators, agents and passengers is collected, used and protected on Myintrips.
01Who this policy covers
Myintrips is used by private bus operators to sell seats and run their buses. This policy covers three groups of people: operators and their staff who use Myintrips, agents who sell tickets through an operator, and passengers who book a journey on an operator’s website, app, agent login or counter.
For passenger bookings, the bus operator decides what passenger information is collected and why. Myintrips processes that information on the operator’s behalf to deliver the journey.
02Information we collect
- Operator account details: name, travels name, email, city, fleet size, routes and billing details.
- Staff and agent details: names, roles, login details, and for crew, licence and badge information entered by the operator.
- Passenger booking details: name, age, gender where needed for seat allocation, phone number, email, boarding and dropping points, berth and fare.
- Payment references: transaction IDs and status from the operator’s payment gateway. Card and UPI details are handled by the gateway and are not stored by Myintrips.
- Trip data: bus location from GPS devices or the conductor app while a trip is running.
- Technical data: device type, browser and log data used to keep the service secure and working.
03How information is used
- To book, confirm, change and cancel seats, and to issue tickets.
- To send tickets, boarding reminders, delay notices and live location links by WhatsApp, SMS or email.
- To let operators plan crew, track bus documents and see reports on their own trips.
- To calculate agent commissions, settlements and refunds.
- To generate fare suggestions for the operator from booking patterns. Suggestions use aggregated trip data, not individual passenger profiles.
- To provide support, prevent fraud and keep the platform secure.
04What we never do
- Passenger data is never sold or rented to anyone.
- Passenger data of one operator is never shown to another operator.
- Passenger data is not used to advertise other operators’ buses.
06How data is protected
- Data is encrypted in transit with HTTPS and encrypted at rest.
- Access is limited by role, so agents see only their own bookings and staff see only what their role allows.
- Admin actions such as fare approvals and refunds are logged.
- Backups are taken regularly and stored securely.
07How long data is kept
Booking and trip records are kept for as long as the operator’s account is active and as long as needed for tax, accounting and legal requirements. When an operator closes their account, their data can be exported for 30 days and is then deleted or anonymised, except where the law requires it to be kept longer.
Live location data from a trip is used during the journey and kept only as trip history for the operator.
08Your choices and rights
- Passengers can ask the operator they booked with to access, correct or delete their details. We help operators respond to these requests.
- Passengers can stop promotional messages from an operator at any time. Ticket and journey messages are still sent.
- Operators and staff can update their own account details and request a copy of their data.
10Changes and questions
If this policy changes in a way that affects how data is used, operators are informed by email before the change applies. For any question about privacy, use the Contact Team page.
